The movie is set in the quaint little town of Seacliff in the state of Washington, where a boy named Chris sends a special letter of need to Santa. This letter to the jolly man in red and white captivates the entire nation. When Chris writes that he wants to leave our world so that he won't be a burden to his separated parents. A frantic race begins to find him (Chris) before he may bring harm to himself.
