Running
from his past. Searching for a future. Struggling with a secret he had
to protect. When a tragic accident destroys his family, 18 year old John
Dakota (Lou Diamond Phillips) takes to the road in search of himself.
When a run-in with the police lands him in a Texas jail, Dakota is
forced to work at a local horse ranch. Soon, his dark past begins to
catch up with him, and Dakota must face one final challenge: Will he
keep running from his mistakes like a boy or can he find the courage to
face his fears as a man? Phillips gives a lights out performance in this
80s drama.
Dakota is a powerful story of love and conviction and a family drama that comes straight from the heart. Dakota DVD is an excellent drama and character study. Dakota 1988 DVD has Lou Diamond Phillips turning in a strong dramatic performance. This remains a little known 80s movie that Phillips did that is both thought provoking and dramatic.
