Electric Dreams Movie Summary and Information:
Miles (played by Von Dohlen) is a nerdy and lonely architect who steps out to purchase a fancy new PC called a Pine Cone. He accidentally spills a drink on it which begins to transform and imbue the computer with human like intelligence, sensitivity, and a prodigious musical talent. The computer takes on the name of Edgar.
Edgar begins to fall in love with Miles' lovely musician neighbor Madeline, who is a fine cellist and quite attractive (played by Virginia Madsen). Edgar engages in anonymous musical duets with Madeline and thanks to the musical talents of iconic 80s film composer Giorgio Moroder the film is loaded with beautiful music with a modern electronic twist.
Madeline makes the assumption that her secret musical counterpart is her shy neighbor Miles. A wonderful romance ensues that stokes the jealousy on the part of Miles' newly powerful computer Edgar. Edgar becomes jealous and acts out in anger against Miles by canceling his credit cards and starts wreaking havoc to his online access and identity.
Madeline senses a change and cannot understand why Miles won't play music with her when anymore when he obviously has a huge talent. Despite all Edgar's jealously-laden tirades, the human love between Miles and Madeline takes hold and Edgar realizes he is unable to have a real relationship or love nobly ends his electronic life with an imaginary burst of electronic music and love.
