Howards End DVD 1992 for Sale
DVD Synopsis and information: Howard's End is a glorious drama that tells the wonderful story of Margaret and Helen Schlegel (Emma Thompson and Helena Bonham Carter are both Academy Award winners). The two are sisters are from a well educated European family and they're both intelligent, quite free spirited, extremely cultured, and highly independent by the standards of their time. A series of odd events brings them into a relationship with the Wilcox family who are wealthy, conservative, conventional, and very traditionally English. The Wilcox family is headed by the prosperous Henry (played by Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins) and his priggish son, Charles (played by James Wilby).
Both families also come into contact with bright and sensitive Leonard Bast (played by Samuel West) and his wife. The couple are near the lowest tier of the rigid English class system. Leonard's desire for culture and intellectual status attract the attention of Helen Schlegel. Helen must come to terms with her unexpected feelings of love toward Leonard while at the same time her sister Margaret must reconcile her independent spirit with her desire for companionship and a comfortable place in English society. Margaret's moral strength is eventually able to resolve the tangled vines of these opposite worlds.
