This made-for-TV film is known simply as the Hank William’s Jr Movie. Based on his early life, the story begins with Hank Williams Jr, played by Richard Thomas, living under his mother's thumb and in his father's, country music legend and icon Hank Williams, shadow. Hank Jr has to compete with the ghost of one of the most famous singers in Country Western music history. The story shows how Hank Jr. had many difficulties and pitfalls of how own and how he aspired to rise above it all. The biopic also depicts how the son of a country music legend grew into his own to become one of America's greatest country music songwriters in his own right.
