This
is the full and uncut version of the highly acclaimed made for TV mini
series that is based on a true story and is also based on the book by
Ann Rule. Starring Farrah Fawcett playing Diane Downs, who is a terribly
abused wife that is driven to extremes by her husbands (played by Ryan
O'Neil) cruelty to take a wildly desperate step attempting to save her
children and ultimately herself. This is a powerful look at a
nationwide problem of abuse and other domestic issues. A very stirring
and emotional performance by Fawcett makes you think what would you do
given the same circumstances that she was in suffering from extreme
duress.
There is a great supporting cast as well including O'Neal. Fawcett turns in another terrific dramatic performance. Fawcett
took on some very tough and emotional roles during this period in
addition to film she also did great work in The Burning Bed (sold with
this title as an upgrade) and Extremities. Small Sacrifices 1989 DVD remains a powerful and heart wrenching Made for TV movie. Small Sacrifices 1989 DVD is an excellent and heart wrenching drama.
