This
is real TV Horror and Suspense. Thinnes stars as David Norliss in this
pilot that first aired in 1972. Norliss is a burned out investigative
reporter who is writing a book exposing ghost and seance hoaxes
supposedly conjuring paranormal phenomena. After a solem and horrible
sounding phone call to his off guard publisher, Norliss vanishes,
leaving only a stack of cassette tapes on which he's dictated his
strange findings, These Are The Norliss Tapes. A wealthy widow, played
fantastically by Angie Dickinson, is attacked by the crazed likeness or
corpse of her recently deceased spouse, Norliss discovers a horrific
case that is full of of empty crypts, blood-drained corpses and occult
violence. What is the significance of an ancient and sacred Egyptian
scarab? Who is sculpting a demon likeness the dead artist's private and
secluded studio? What has happened to David Norliss? The horrifying
answers, mystifying truth and supernatural explanation just may lay
hidden in dreaded The Norliss Tapes.
Vonetta McGee (Blacula) and
Claude Akins co-star in this landmark pilot produced and directed by Dan
Curtis (Dark Shadows, The Night Stalker) and written by William F.
Nolan (Logan's Run, Burnt Offerings) that fans still call one of the
