A
well written and creepy Ghost Story. In this spooky Victorian ghost
story, Arthur Kidd, played by Adrian Rawlins, is a solicitor and he is
sent to settle on the estate of a recently departed client by the name
of Alice Drablow. When Arthur arrives at the small town of Crythin
Gifford, he comes up against vigorous prejudice and superstition by the
locals. During the course of his work Arthur is has haunting images that
plague him of a sinister and mysterious female dressed in all black.
This apparition, according to local legend, has placed a curse on the
small village. While saving the life of a young gypsy girl, Arthur
becomes involved in the macabre and dark curse that haunts the village
to this day. His innocent meddling increases the wrath of the menacing
ghost known only as 'The Woman In Black' and drives him to the edge
insanity.
The Woman In Black 1989 DVD is a terrific ghost story and little known 80s horror gem. The Woman In Black 1989 DVD holds up extremely well nearly 3 decades after its release. The Woman In Black DVD has Rawlins and Holman giving fantastic performances for this TV ghost story classic. The Woman In Black DVD is an excellent ghost story and in many way superior to the recent big budget remake. An excellent ghost story from the late 80s and in many ways superior to the remake from the 2000s.
